Released in July, 2012, this up-tempo tune is supposed to be a summer love song by Kana Nishino. But I picked this song for this week because yesterday (February 14th) was St. Valantain's Day.
In Japan, Valantain's Day turned into a totally different event from its origin. It becomes a day for girls to make confession of their love to boys by giving them chocolate. It is said that this event was invented by some Japanese chocolate companies to sell more chocolate... smart, huh?
As time goes by, this event became popular among Japanese school girls. The kind of chocolate is divided into several categories by its meaning. For example, for boys she really likes, she gives him "Honki(本気） choco", usually home-made chocolate, cake or cookies with additional gifts like knitted wool scarf. There is also "Giri (義理）choco" which is given to company boss, colleagues and male friends.
Recently "Tomo (友） choco" was added to its category meaning that it is a sign of their friendship and it's a girl-to-girl chocolate.
In return, on March 14th, boys have to give something (usually candy and some small gifts) to girls. It is called a "White Day".
Well, I will send this song to all the girls in love as "oh-enka". Go for it!! ^^)/
