Oozora to daichi no naka de
Chiharu Matsuyama
Released in June 1976, this song was recorded as one of the songs in his first album, "君のために作った歌”. This song always reminds me of Hokkaido's vast landscape where he is hometown is.
He gained great popularity in the 70s to 80s. His voice has such a magical charm that will make me feel relaxed. I've long believed that this is a song for summer but as I read through the lyrics, it seems that this is a song for winter.

Hateshinai oozora to hiroi daichi no sono naka de
In the middle of vast land and infinite big sky
itsu no hi ka shiawase wo
someday happiness
Jibun no ude de tsukamu you
I want to to grab with my own arms
aruki dasou asu no hi ni
Let's start to walk for tomorrow
furi-kaeru niwa mada wakai
I'm too young to look back
fukisusabu kitakaze ni
Against north wind blowing hard
tobasarenu you tobanu you
walk not to be blown away and not to fly away
kogoeta ryoute ni iki wo fukikakete
Blowing the breath on freezing hands
shibareta karada wo atatamete
Warming the body almost frozen
ikiru koto ga tsurai toka kurushii datoka iu mae ni
Before saying living is hard or painful
no ni sodatsu hana naraba chikara no kagiri ikite yare
live with all your might if you are a flower in wilderness
kogoeta ryoute ni iki wo fukikakete
Blowing the breath on freezing hands

Warming the body almost frozen
