The BOOM

Released in June 1993, this song is the band's 11th single.  This song was originally recorded as one of the songs in the album, "思春期 Shishunki" in January 1992.  Then Okinawa dialect version released only within Okinawa later that year.  

Since Okinawa dialect quite different from standard Japanese, the lyrics are hard to understand for other people outside Okinawa.  This original version released in June 1993, the lyrics were written in standard Japanese with some words taken from the dialect.

"Shima uta" which literally means "island song" originally means local folk songs of Amami islands which is part of Kagoshima.  But after this song became very popular, "Shima uta" is known as folk songs of Okinawa.
