風を食む Kaze wo hamu
ヨルシカ Yorushika
Released only through digital distribution in October 2020, this song is their 8th single. Yorushika is made of a composer, n-buna who used to make songs for Vocaolid and a vocal, suis. Even after their songs became very popular, they don't disclose their profiles or faces in the media, saying they wish the audience to focus only on their songs.
The lyrics have some literary old language that we don't usually use in conversation.
It is called "枕詞, Makurakotoba" or literally pillow words, which is used in Japanese 和歌, Waka poetry. Those Makurakotoba indicates certain words that come afterward and it is considered as a set phrase.
Makura kotoba used in the lyrics are:
花ぐわし(Hana guwashi) : indicates "sakura" and "葦 ashi (reed)"
天飛ぶ（Ama tobu): indicates "雁 kari (goose)", "軽 karu (light)"
冬ごもり（Fuyu gomori): indicates "春 Haru (spring)", "張る haru (tention)"
Makurakotoba itself doesn't have any meaning but it brings other words that is hinted by these words. So it was difficult to translate the exact meaning of these lyrics. But I tried my best...
