Released in October 1982, this song has become his biggest hits. Unique lyrics and blues sounds matched perfectly with his husky voice.
The lyrics were written from the view of a woman with Kansai dialect who probably lives in Osaka. "あかん, Akan" is one of the typical Kansai dialect(関西弁, Kansai-ben) which means "いけない（だめ）, Don't". When someone says "あかん” in a conversation, we instantly recognize that the person is from Kansai area. Also, "～やけれど, yakeredo" or "なったんか, nattannka” sounds like a dialect. In Tokyo, we would say, "~だけれど, dakeredo", and ”なったのか, nattanoka". Those words used in the lyrics give a local touch and realistic feeling to the story.
